So many wonderful things to catch up on. Right now is one of those seasons that just gets so busy. Its busy, and crazy, and too much fun!!!! Heres a look back on the month of April.

My Best friend Brittney came out to visit with her son Titus. He is just a few months younger than Carson... They had so much fun together
This is our Papa Hardy. He is one of the greatest and Godliest men that I know, a retired pastor. I could not resist getting a picture of him playing with the babies. This is a picture that I will treasure and cherish. Oh he's singing "pat- a- cake"

Kiss?

Bob recently switched jobs and we switched insurance... AAAHHHH thought I. We really did have to start over in alot of ways. New doctors, New tests, and new treatment paths. Praise the Lord we love our new doctors and are very excited to start new paths. Mid April,  Carson had a follow-up MRI. his previous MRI showed significant and very concerning pockets of fluid along his spinal cord. This is what we commonly reference as tethered cord syndrome. This requires a very intensive and invasive surgery to correct.  Our follow-up MRI showed that the pockets were still present but had not worsened in about 4 months. He is not showing any symptoms and does not appear to be in pain. So for now- NO SURGERY!- We wait. Surgery will come... but the longer we can put that off the better.

He did so great through his MRI.... Really really great. About 4 hours he was eating chicken and fries at Fuddruckers. Oh, and a chocolate shake.

That night after the MRI we went to the airport and picked up my brother and family!!!!!!!!!!!! Charity is my amazing sister in law and Micah my nephew.

Of course we went to Disney the next day!

watch out! Micah's driving!

Watch out!! Those are stinky feet!

I love this guy!!! Seriously Cody has not only been my broham, but he has been my Toto- my best friend! I am so proud of him!!! He currently is serving the Lord at a church in Florida doing just about every area of ministry that you can imagine. LOVE HIM!!!

While visiting with us Micah took his first steps!!!!! He walked to this trash can. :)

Yes, Micah is eating a rock. LOL!

They were a hit!!!
The computer will not let me finish uploading the rest of the pictures.... We have two big parties to recap.... I will wrap this post up and then get to work on a next one.

Alot has taken place in the last couple months and we have been extremely busy. Things are going phenomenal and we are so blessed.

* Bob did get a new job and that has been a huge change but a great change. This job is set up so that he gets every other Friday off!!! We did have to switch over our insurance and that has been a big change as we have been meeting lots of new doctors and getting all the testing done for Carson for each one. We have had soo many appointments the last few weeks. Praise the Lord though... I was so terrified to make this switch. We were very comfortable with the doctors that Carson had all of which we have had since his birth.... BUT we are so happy with each of the new doctors. In fact his new neurosurgeon actually worked alongside his former neurosurgeon. His new Urologist actually believes that children with Spina Bifida can be potty-trained, and gave us a plan to start with... His former urologist told me I was crazy and that I should not even try until he was much older. So praise the Lord for this switch!!!

* Silas went from no teeth to three teeth... Yes three. Two on bottom and one on top right off to the side giving him a nice little fang.

* Silas started walking on March 28... He took about 20 steps and now he goes and goes.

* Through Shriners we were able to get Carson a set of KAFOS and they were absolutely free to us!!! If you remember we were told that it would be about $3,000- $5,000 out of our pocket through insurance. Praise the Lord for places like Shriners. Carson is rocking these braces. About one month ago I asked his pt if we could try a walker... I know that she was super hesitant and neither of us expected him to really do much with it... I just wanted to try and see; get a idea of what we needed to work on. WELL- at his very first attempt he was able to stand!!! His next attempt he was able to shift his weight from side to side. His third attempt he was kick a ball!!! Yes- He lifted up his leg and kicked the ball! We are not quite sure of this is a voluntary kick or a involuntary kick in response to him shifting his weight. Either way this is awesome! and either way that is what we need to get him walking! Seriously this mommy is so happy and proud.

* I am 16 weeks along on this third pregnancy and the morning sickness (which was so intense and severe that I was medicated throughout the entire pregnancy) has become much more mild and I am no longer taking the medication. I still am sick but it is by far less than with either of my former pregnancies!!! Maybe that means its a girl... LOL.. we will find out next week.

Well... I do believe that is about all... Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement!!! Love ya.

Sharing my heart with you

This past week my heart has been so overwhelmingly burdened. So broken for a sweet family who I've honestly never even met. The family is the Cretzmans. Matt, and Lana are missionaries on deputation in the states trying to raise support to go to the field of Cuba. Early last Monday they were leaving one church and headed to another as their car hit a patch of black ice. Matt lost control and their minivan hit a interstate sign. The damage was done on the passenger side. Lana, who was riding in the front passengers seat broke her leg. Azlynn, their 3 year old daughter was riding just behind her mommy, and lost her life. As her daddy held her just outside of the car, and minutes after the accident took place, she took her last sweet breath. She was a princess, with the sweetest smile, and the prettiest blonde hair.... Just 3 years old, and now in the arms of her heavenly Father.

To read more about this sweet family, and how you can be a blessing to them. You can visit their website.

My heart just aches and aches. My mind is blown, and words cant even express all that I feel.

I have numerous friends who have lost their children. Through miscarriages, still-births, disabilities, prematurity, accidents. I'm saddened for each of them who have been left with aching arms and broken hearts at their loss.

I ran across this poem yesterday...

There are those who have a boy or girl, the lovely gift of God,
But sickness or a tragedy takes them from their parents arms.
Mama's wish for days gone by, Daddy's long for that lost child,
But children are not lost when you know where they are.

Jesus has a rocking chair,

And He holds that precious baby with oh such tender care.
He takes the place of Mom and Dad.
He's the greatest parent a child could have.
Don't worry about the children there.
Jesus has a rocking chair.

We get so selfish, and we so often neglect to see the blessings that are children are. That all children are. They are gifts. The Lord has placed them in our care, and in our lives. He gives them to us... . At Azlynn's funeral yesterday her grandpa spoke these words-

"God did not take her from us. She belongs to Him."

As difficult as those words are, they are so true. God in His perfect wisdom gives us our children, disability or not. He hand selects them, creates them, fashions them in His loving care. They are His miracles.

The loss of a child, or what some would call loss in a child having a disability is intended by God. Nothing takes him by surprise, and nothing happens that He doesn't have a plan and a purpose for. This sweet family has touched my heart in so many ways. They are praising the Lord through their grief. They are looking for the opportunities that they can serve Him though this, and they are trusting His plan.

I have been so convicted to do the same. And I have been reminded how blessed I am. Two baby boys, and another on the way.... God is good. He is just, and He is wise. We sing a song in our church and I think its just perfect to close with...

Trust His Heart
All things work for our good
Though sometimes we can't
See how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth
Our Father knows what's best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim
And you just can't see him,
Remember He's still on the throne

Chorus:

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When don't see his plan
When you can't trace his hand
Trust His Heart

He sees the master plan
He holds the future in his hand,
Don't live as those who have no hope,
While our hope is found in him.
We see the present clearly
But he sees the first and last
And like a tapestry He's weaving you and me,
To someday be just like him

(Chorus)

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you

(Chorus)

When you can't trace his hand
When you don't see his plan
When you don't understand
Trust His Heart
