Vacation

Last weekend we took our very first "real" family vacation. We immediately learned that things are just not quite the same when you have a baby joining you. LOL, we shared a laugh about how we had made plans to do this or that, and then realized mid- planning that hey, that is not  going to work.
What did work was absolutely a wonderful time together, relaxing, eating, playing, and exploring. Having Carson has changed our lives, and I will let you judge what we think about that and our first family vacation. Here is the recap of day 1.
Peek-a-boo
Beach shops here we come.
We played tag along the way

Daddy, what is that thing??

He still wasn't so sure.
What could make him say, mmmm???

Pismo beach cinnamon rolls
We decided we'd try the beach.
Sandy, windy, not having fun.
Here's a bright idea.  Let's take a nap... well, Bob and Carson did.
We are blessed.

Reflections

Today, Carson is nine months old. This is absolutely unbelievable to me. For nine months now I have had the privilege and the blessing of being Carson's mom. nine months have come and gone. Nine months and I can look back and say, WOW! I cannot believe that it has gone so quickly. I also cannot believe how amazing and wonderful the last nine months have been. I am in awe as I reflect on all that we have gained in these last nine months.

We've gained knowledge

 We've gained friends

We've gained debt

We've gained experience

We've gained faith

We've gained strength

We've gained a new language

We've gained a new understanding of love

We've gained a new way to pull together

We've gained memories

We've gained gray hair

We've gained peace

We've gained gear

We've gained confidence in our Creator

All because we've gained the biggest blessing of all--- A son.

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. "
(Rom 5:1-5)
